MissedCall sends a WhatsApp message to people who called a business and were not answered, and turns their replies into leads for that business. This page explains what information that involves and what is done with it.

Who runs MissedCall

MissedCall is operated by Lavudiya Balu (trading as OriginU Technologies), Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Questions about this policy or your data go to support@originutech.in.

Two kinds of people

Business users create an account and connect their WhatsApp Business number. Callers are the customers of those businesses: people who rang the business and received a WhatsApp reply. For callers' information the business is in charge of how it is used, and MissedCall handles it on the business's behalf.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and a hashed password. The password itself is never stored.
  • Business details: business name, industry, phone number, owner name, the services and areas you enter, and team members you invite.
  • WhatsApp connection: your WhatsApp Business Account ID, phone number ID and the access token Meta issues when you connect. The token is stored encrypted.
  • Callers' information: the phone number that called, the WhatsApp messages exchanged with it, and the lead details taken from that conversation (name, area, what they need, how urgent it is).
  • Billing: your plan and subscription status. Card and UPI details are handled by Razorpay and never reach our servers.
  • Technical logs: request times and error details needed to keep the service running. Logs can include a caller's phone number; they do not include message contents or credentials.

How it is used

  • To send the missed-call WhatsApp message and carry on the short conversation that follows.
  • To show the business its leads and alert the owner on WhatsApp.
  • To count usage against the plan's monthly allowance and to bill paid plans.
  • To keep the service secure and to fix faults.

We do not sell personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use callers' messages to train AI models.

Who else handles it

MissedCall relies on a small number of service providers, each of which processes data only to provide its service:

  • Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Cloud API) delivers and receives the WhatsApp messages.
  • Vercel hosts the application.
  • Upstash provides the database the application stores its records in.
  • Razorpay processes subscription payments.

These providers may process data on servers outside India. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

How long it is kept

Leads and conversations stay in a business's account until that business deletes them or closes the account. A business can delete an individual lead from its dashboard at any time. When an account is closed on request, its business details, WhatsApp connection, leads and conversations are deleted within 30 days, except records we are legally required to keep, such as invoices.

Your choices

  • Business users can correct their details in Settings, delete leads from the dashboard, disconnect by asking us, and ask for the whole account to be deleted.
  • Callers can stop the conversation at any time by not replying, can block the business on WhatsApp, and can ask either the business or us to delete their information.

How to make a deletion request is set out on the data deletion page.

Security

Access tokens are encrypted before they are stored, passwords are hashed, each business's records are kept separate from every other business's, and all traffic uses HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting your data occurs we will tell the affected businesses without undue delay.

Children

MissedCall is a tool for businesses and is not intended for use by anyone under 18.
